Government officials, education stakeholders, anti-corruption authorities, civil society representatives and members of the public gathered at the Miatta Civic Centre on Tuesday, 26th August 2026, to brainstorm on addressing the “Threats to Quality Education in Sierra Leone”.
The event, which was hosted by Hon. Chernor Bah, the Minister of Information and Civic Education, focused on examination malpractice, weak administration, unaccredited institutions, fake qualifications and the need for stronger accountability across the education sector, among others.
Participants called for tougher sanctions against those who facilitate malpractice, greater use of technology in examination administration and a renewed emphasis on integrity in schools.
